A small church with an open door, here in the heart of downtown.

We're Lake Stevens First Baptist Church — an ordinary, come-as-you-are family of faith gathering each Sunday a short walk from the water. No crowd to get lost in. Just a warm welcome and a place to belong.

What actually happens

A normal Sunday, start to finish

Walking into a new church can feel like a lot. So here's exactly what to expect, minute by minute — no surprises. Our gathering begins at 11:00, runs about an hour, and you'll be home for lunch.

  1. 10:45 AM

    Coffee on the table

Come early or right on time. There is real coffee, a few pastries, and someone who will be genuinely glad to meet you.

  2. 11:00 AM

    We sing together

A handful of songs — some old hymns, some newer. Piano and a guitar, not a concert. Sing loud or just listen.

  3. 11:15 AM

    A message from the Bible

Our pastor teaches straight through books of the Bible — about 30 minutes, plain language, meant for everyday life.

  4. 11:45 AM

    Prayer & communion

We pray for our town and one another. On the first Sunday of the month we share communion together.

  5. By noon

    Linger a while

Most folks stick around to talk. No pressure to stay, and no pressure to leave. You set the pace.

A few of us gather earlier. If you ever want to, you're welcome to join our Prayer Team at 9:30 or Sunday School at 9:45. Neither is expected — most visitors simply come at 11:00, and that's a perfectly good place to start.

Honestly, who we are

A little church that knows your name

We're not a big production, and we're not trying to be. On a given Sunday you'll find a couple dozen people of every age — longtime Lake Stevens families, newcomers, retirees, kids, and folks who haven't been to church in years. There's room for you in that picture.

  • We really are small — and we think that’s a feature, not a flaw.
  • You can sit in the back, ask hard questions, and figure faith out at your own pace.
  • You’ll be noticed and welcomed, never cornered or put on the spot.
  • Come as you are — flannel and work boots fit right in around here.

The kingdom of God starts like a mustard seed. Encouragement for a small church that is trusting God with ordinary faithfulness.

Rooted by the water

Part of downtown Lake Stevens for the long haul

Our doors sit on Main Street, just up from the North Cove — the same shoreline where the Rucker Brothers ran their sawmill back in 1907 and where the town first took root. We're neighbors to North Cove Park, the historic Grimm House, and the lake that gives our town its name.

As downtown is renewed and the waterfront reconnects this community to its story, we want to be a steady, familiar presence — a small church that loves this lake, this Main Street, and the people who call it home.
